What we do
Our work is carried out in four main areas: Development Cooperation, Global Citizenship Education, Inclusion and Training.
Our history
Solsef was founded on 21 October 1993 by Maria Brígida Domingues, Firmino Cachada, Manuel Bento and Victor de Sá Sequeira, under the dream of doing more for human development and social justice in developing countries.
Mission
We work for solidarity in the world through education.
Vision
We design a world with equal opportunities towards sustainable human development.
Objectives
Provide innovative solutions to the challenges of access to sustainable human development, to turn solidarity projects into reality, and to work together with the missionary church and other local partners to help the most vulnerable.
Values
Solidarity
With the intention of tracing horizons of proximity with those who are most unprotected, seeking social justice transversally and feeling true charity as a permanent mission at the service of sustainable human development.
Youth
With the conviction of betting on youth as the instrument of change to achieve a better and more humane world.
Credibility
Rigor, transparency, suitability and independence are the hallmarks of the credit needed to develop social projects with a positive impact on communities.
Sustainability
Betting on local continuity is, on the one hand, being by the side of those in need, when they need it, but at the same time providing the conditions and tools so that they do not need it again. On the other hand, it is an intervention guided by the promotion, empowerment, and development of the autonomy of people, communities and local structures.
Without Borders
We are citizens of a “global village”, without borders, ruled by the principle of mutual help and sharing common natural resources like water or the sun.
